ROTARIANS CELEBRATE THE LIFE OF COMMUNITY ACTIVIST FRED KATZ
Rotarian Katz was involved in many community activities but one of his highest priorities was working with our youth, such as: mentoring, Rotary Youth Club (Interact), CHS ski team, Rotary Student of the Month. Because of his strong commitment to our young people, his fellow Rotarians felt it appropriate to establish a scholarship in his honor. The scholarship can be applied to the student continuing his/her education at an accredited University, Community (or State) College or accredited Technical School. It will be awarded on the basis of merit including grades and participation in school or community service projects. The scholarship is a component fund of the Calaveras Community Foundation, a non-profit public-benefit 501 (c) (3) corporation and contributions are fully tax deductible. Donations can be made in care of the Rotary Club of West Calaveras: P. O. Box 1161 Valley Springs, CA 95252-1161 and should be identified as being a Fred Katz scholarship contribution. Rotary International consists of 1.2 million member in 31,314 clubs from 160 countries. Members of Rotary are business and professional leaders united to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will and peace in the world. The Rotary Club of West Calaveras was chartered on July 13, 2001. For more information call the club secretary at the phone number displayed in Members Only, or contact the webmaster.. |
