The featured speaker at our 2006 District Conference at Tenaya was Dan Miller, who was stricken with polio as a teen, and yet went on to become a PE teacher and a principal. Perennially upbeat, Dan is a nationally known motivational speaker.

His powerful, inspiring presentation, "Living, Laughing and Loving Life!" leaves audiences on their feet, wanting more.  His unique humorous style gives hope and encouragement  that all of us can beat the negatives of life. Dan’s fresh approach puts life (both personal and professional) into perspective. Dan shares about meeting his dreams in life in spite of impossible odds. His challenge to others is that pain and problems are inevitable, but misery is optional, joy is a choice and your dreams can come true. In 1990, Dan began his career as a full-time speaker, and since then he has  shared his inspirational story with more than 556,000 audience members in 44 states and Canadian provinces. 

A retired educator, Dan received his Master’s Degree in Education from Eastern Washington University. He has been an elementary school physical education teacher and principal. Dan received two Washington Distinguished Principal Awards and the Excellence in Education Award from the Governor of Washington state.
