Phyllis Giersch just received notice from Rotary International that our application for "Rotarian Fellowship of Quilters and Fiber Artists" has been approved by the Rotary International Board of Directors.

Plans are to share ideas, techniques, articles and special interest stories regarding the fabric arts.  The fellowship is open to anyone who works in this art form or has an appreciation and interest in it.

The current goal is to have a project that can be featured at the Centennial International Convention in Chicago, IL in 2005.

Rotary Fellowship officers hold administrative positions in the fellowship and perform specific duties to maintain and promote their fellowship.  RFQFA Officers are Diana Barden, Chairman; Phyllis Giersch, Vice-Chairman; Donna Scarbrough, Treasurer; Ailsa McKenzie, Secretary.

To form a Rotary Fellowship, an application must be signed by a minimum of three District Governors from three different countries.   The countries forming charter RFQFA are Tasmania, New Zealand and the United States.  We also have many interested members in Canada and Australia and the list will grow when the word gets out that we are established.

Rotary Fellowships are operated independently of Rotary International, and each fellowship has its own rules and administrative structure. Some fellowships require annual dues payments to cover administrative costs.

For more information or to learn how to join, please contact  Phyllis Giersch 559-673-1484 or Diana Barden 559-674-7138
