Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship Applications and Rotary World Peace Fellowship applications are now available District deadline for submission of applications for study in fall 2010-12 due June 1, 2009. Club deadlines will vary by club. Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships and World Peace Fellowships The Rotary World Peace Fellowship is a world-competitive selection process extended to individuals committed to peace and cooperation. The Rotary Centers for International Studies in Peace and Conflict Resolution offer the opportunity to pursue a two-year, master’s level degree in international studies, peace studies, and conflict resolution at one of the several Rotary Centers: Duke University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA; International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan; Sciences PO, Paris, France; Universidad Del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina; University of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England; University of California-Berkeley, California, USA; and University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. District 5220 deadline for this application, for study in 20010-12 is June 1, 2008. The Ambassadorial Scholarship program supports the mission of the Rotary Foundation to further world understanding and peace. During their studies abroad, Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholars serve as “ambassadors of good will.” Through appearances before Rotary clubs and districts, schools, civic organizations, and other forums, the scholars represent their homelands and work to further international understanding and peace. Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships are for one academic year abroad and provide a grant of $24,000 intended to fund round-trip transportation, tuition and fees, room, board, some educational supplies , and language training (if necessary. Multi-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships are grants of US$12,000 per year for two years toward the cost of a degree program in another country. Also available are Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships that provide funding for three or six months of intensive language study and cultural immersion in another country. Applicants must obtain sponsorship of a local Rotary club. District 5220 deadline for this application, for study in 20010-11 is June 1, 2009.
