Historically Rotary shunned publicity. It was good enough to perform good deeds, the thinking went, and there is no need to call attention to ourselves. That may have worked well for the Rotary of that time, but today we have learned that our ambitious projects at home and abroad take a lot of manpower and a lot of money. We can't grow our organization or our fundraising efforts without telling people outside our organization who we are and what we do.
