District Governor Nominee Designate Liz Hosmer is an active member of the Rotary Club of Ceres, joining husband Dave in the club in 2001. She was named Rotarian of the year in 2003 and served as club President in 2005-2006. During her Presidential year she lead her club on their first club wide, hands-on International Project, a wheelchair distribution in Guatemala.

From the first year she joined Rotary Liz became involved in District Activities. She has chaired a Membership and Foundation Seminar, a Foundation Dinner, was co-District Conference chair with Dave in 2008, has been a presenter at many assemblies and seminars, been an assistant district governor, and literacy chair for the district. She currently serves as the coordinator for the Club Vision Facilitation Team, is on the Grants and Long Range Planning committees and is District Trainer. Dave serves as the District Treasurer.

Following a long career with non profit organizations including the San Francisco Lighthouse for the Blind, the Blind Babies Foundation and Family Connections Adoptions, Liz joined husband Dave in the family business, Capitol Door Sales working as the HR/Marketing Director. Liz loves that Rotary allows her the hands on humanitarian service she enjoyed in the early years of her non-profit work.

Liz and Dave are Paul Harris Fellows. They are proud parents of four children, Lauren Moraca, Max, Molly and Taylor Hosmer all of whom grew up participating in Rotary events and fundraisers. Lauren was a featured soloist during the opening ceremonies of Far West Pets for two years, and Molly traveled to England on a short term Youth Exchange in 2006. Max and Lauren have both been soloists at District, Area and club events. All family members are musical and enjoy performing in everything from the Modesto Symphony Orchestra Chorus to Opera, to Musical Theater.
