In addition, he has served on a number of district committees, including Budget and Finance, Grants, RYLA Oversight, Long Range Planning, Youth Protection, and Youth Exchange. He has also been a RYLA counselor, an Interact Advisor, and conducted club and area speech contests.

He is proud to have worked with his club to support a number of international projects of other district clubs and with Rotarians in the Philippines and Mexico on five matching grants.

Dave’s family has also been very active in Rotary. He has been married to wife Sally since 1977, and she is an Honorary Member of Escalon Sunrise. She has been an active supporter of club and district activities, including starting the Interact Club at Escalon High School; participating in the international projects listed above as well as Rotary/Flying Doctor trips in Guatemala, Peru, and El Salvador; and being a leading force in starting several Rotary/Interact fundraisers and collecting school, sport, and medical supplies to be delivered in Mexico, the Philippines, Dominican Republic, Malawi, and the Rotary/Flying Doctor trips. Daughter Jessica has been a member of the Rotaract Club of Washington, D.C., participated as a Rotary short-term youth exchange student to Germany, and has traveled to Kenya and the Philippines with her parents on Rotary projects. Son Duncan was a District Interact officer, a RYLA participant, and a four-year participant in playground projects in Mexicali, Mexico.

Dave is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Paul Harris Society; Sally, Jessica and Duncan are Paul Harris Fellows; and Dave and Sally are Major Donors, Benefactors, and members of the Bequest Society.       Dave is a graduate of Stanford University, earning a BA in 1970 and an MA in 1975, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 to 1973.
